Kentucky Fans Riot Wildcats Fans Flip Cars, Burn Coaches After Final Four Win Over Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Thousands of fans swarmed streets near the University of Kentucky campus, setting couches and a car on fire, after the Wildcats beat cross-state rival Louisville 69-61 in the Final Four.

The screaming, cheering fans took to the streets following the win Saturday evening in New Orleans. Many streets had already been blocked off around Kentucky's Lexington campus to make way for the crowds, but sirens blared and police began shutting down more streets as the blazes broke out.

A spokeswoman for Lexington's mayor, Susan Straub says police made fewer than 10 arrests. She says a few injuries have been reported, but says things have not gotten out of control.

It's still not so much a riot, but more an uprising in celebration in Lexington on Saturday evening. The Kentucky Wildcats' win over Louisville in the Final Four sparked somewhat of a street party, but there has been some damage as a result. The "riot," or whatever it is, has been taking place on State Street, where crowds have gathered following the win.

Manchester City produced a dramatic late fightback to avoid defeat against Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium, but Roberto Mancini’s men still handed the title initiative to Manchester United by failing to claim a last-gasp victory.

Trailing 3-1 with five minutes to go, City’s 15-month unbeaten home record in the league appeared destined to end after two Seb Larsson goals and a Nicklas Bendtner header had put Sunderland firmly in control.

But although Mario Balotelli and Aleksandar Kolarov scored in the dying minutes to earn a 3-3 draw, United can now move five points clear if they win their game in hand at Blackburn on Monday. This sparked Mancini's side into action and, in mitigation, they fought back well. The arguments will flare regarding the Edin Dzeko penalty he won when coming together with Craig Gardner and it was also unclear why, after Phil Dowd awarded the spot-kick, he did not offer Gardner the second yellow card that would have reduced the visitors to 10 men. Whatever, Balotelli stepped up to slot home.

For City disaster struck when Sunderland collected their third: Sessègnon once more wandered through the home side's midfield before he fed Bendtner, whose delivery was finished by Larsson for his second.

This led to the introduction of Carlos Tevez – for David Silva – and when moments later Balotelli and Kolarov had a dispute about who should take a free-kick this appeared to symbolise City's afternoon.

But, at least, both the Italian and the defender would go on to score and claim what may yet be a precious point.

Theo Walcott found space in the box and sidefooted into an open net after his initial effort came back off the post.

Paddy Kenny denied Robin van Persie one-on-one after the break before Diakite blasted in Jamie Mackie's pass.

Scotty McCreery Performs on 'American Idol 11' - Top 9

Scotty McCreery made his triumphant return to the American Idol stage last night with a performance of his brand new single, “Water Tower Town.” Afterwards, the season 10 winner was presented with a Platinum plaque from Interscope Geffen A&M Records Chairman, Jimmy Iovine, commemorating 1 million in sales for his debut album, Clear As Day.

Scotty can also be heard on this season of Idol as the voice of the official ‘Goodbye Song’ with his cover of Tim McGraw’s “Please Remember Me” (available now on iTunes). The track can be heard during the video that plays at the end of each elimination episode, and is streaming now on Soundcloud.

Sidney Crosby HEAD SHOT injury

Sidney Crosby was bloodied after being struck in the face by a puck shot by New York Islanders defenseman Dylan Reese.

The Pittsburgh captain, playing in the ninth game of his second comeback of the season after recovering from concussion symptoms, was hit 1:43 into the second period. Reese was trying to clear the puck out of the lower left corner in the New York end when he hit Crosby, who was standing a few feet away from him.

Crosby stayed down on his stomach for about a minute before gathering himself and getting back up on his skates. He then skated off toward the tunnel leading to the dressing room. He returned to the bench with 10:13 left in the period, and was back on the ice moments later.

A pool of blood was on the ice where the 24-year-old Crosby went down. Play resumed moments later after the ice was cleaned.

Crosby entered with four goals and 21 assists in 16 games this season. He missed the first 20 games, returned Nov. 21 and played eight games before leaving the lineup again. After sitting out 40 more games, Crosby got back into action March 15.

Nicki Minaj Performs "Starships" Live On "American Idol"

With just a week until the release of her new album– which sadly leaked online — Nicki Minaj is headed out on the promotional trail to spread the word. What better place than American Idol’s live results show? Nicki took the stage and unleashed her signature dramatics and colorful personality while she performed her latest single “Starships.”

Wearing an eye-popping, cleavage revealing dress, Nicki danced around on stage with her dancers. When the performance concluded, Nicki joked with Ryan Seacrest and the rest of the judges about wanting to come back as a guest judge. Jennifer Lopez joked back, saying she doesn’t know if there’s enough room for both of them on the panel. A big booty joke? We think so!Heejun Han was the one who got sent home this week, leaving DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez and Elise Testone as the remaining top 8 contestants. Landing on the bottom three along with Skylar and Hollie, he tried to convince the judges to save him by singing Donnie Hathaway's "A Song for You", but failed.

"Soccer Fight" South Carolina Girl Brutal Soccer Attack Gets Assault Charge

Annette McCullough, a senior at Lewisville High in South Carolina, faces an assault charge after she brutally attacked an opposing player during a soccer match against Chester High School.

The raw footage above from CN2 shows McCullough chasing after a ball with an unnamed Chester player trailing behind her. With the defender in close pursuit, McCullough falls down, perhaps as a result of incidental contact as the two players were running in such close proximity. Seeming to believe that her fall was the result of an intentional trip by the defender, McCullough immediately gets up and goes after the opposing player. The video shows the 18-year-old McCullough grab hold of the opponent's hair with one hand while repeatedly punching her in the face and head until another woman runs over to separate them.

Chester County Sheriff Richard Smith told FoxNews.com that McCullough was charged with third-degree assault and battery. Per the report, the victim suffered minor injuries.

The mother of the victim told WBTV that McCullough should be prosecuted and banned from playing soccer in the league.

While this attack may bring to mind the 2010 incident when University of New Mexico soccer Elizabeth Lambert violently pulled down an opponent by the hair during a match, the fury displayed by McCullough in the video may be more like the one of sporadic referee attacks that occur when a player who feels wrong takes matters into his or her own hands. In this case, though, the referee is hardly involved (although a linesman does help stop the altercation) until the close of the video, when he can be seen showing McCullough a red card as she is escorted from the field.
